What energy! I was greeted with a smile, good conversation, and reasonable prices. When the food was brought to the table, there was the same enthusiasm from the server. It seems like the folks like working there, and a positive attitude delivers positive results. (Flounder sandwich was great).

This was the first time my wife and I had eaten there. Sent for lunch. Was very good! Prices were very reasonable! I had the flounder sandwich with Cole slaw and a side of fried okra. Awesome! Flounder was way off the bun! Good size! Okra was very good. Wife had the same except her side was sweet potato fries. I tried some of those....very good! We will definitely go back when we're in the Nags Head, NC area. Highly recommend it! All staff was very friendly and personable. 👍

Great burgers, great service. Would return any time I'm in the area. Visiting Kitty Hawk and not going to Spanky's is a mistake you don't want to make.

Got the alligator. Buddy got the burger. Owner is awesome. Limited hours 11-4. If possible make it a priority.

Wanted to try out new places while we are enjoying our stay at the OBX. Did some searching and came upon this gem! The food, the atmosphere, the staff ALL were a delight. 3 ppl -$22 bucks- great pricing on all their menu selections. Check out their website and then go check them out and trust me you'll add them to your top 5 list! Ps went back and brought shirts to make the folks back home jealous lol

Good food at a really good price. I got the catfish sandwich and fries and it was very good. My family all liked their food too. Menu had a lot of good choices. Short wait for food. All around a very good experience.

This place is an absolute MUST on your visit to the Outer Banks. The food is delicious. The prices are great and the the staff are AMAZING. it's all about family and food. Everything on the menu is great, you will not be disappointed. Show them some love. Done in or take out ,they have it covered.

Food really hit the spot - no frills comfort food done right. Tackled the viking burger with tots - the burger was seasoned well and super tasty despite its size and everything is better with tots. Would definitely go back again.

Really a great store. Fast service, fun environment, outdoor dining, and great food. All of the employees are fun and helpful. Also they are doing great at keeping cleans during the pandemic. This was a fun stop during our vacation.

Fun diner with tons of cute items on display. The food was fairly standard and good. We especially liked the clam cake sandwich, which was excellent, and the burgers. The service was amazingly friendly, and the place was clean. Booths and tables were available, as well as high chairs. Will definitely go back!

This place is locally owned mom and pop restaurant. Its hand made fast food. Service is quick and the food is great. I love their salt and pepper fries which appears on the specials from time to time. You must go here and try their burgers. Don't do the bigger chains, this place beats them all hands down. Oh and see how many monkeys you can count!

I love this place.. been coming here for years. The burgers are freaking amazing and cheap! Best way to end the perfect beach day. Also, the owner has been working every dang day for like the past ten years, every time I go in he takes my order and he is the friendliest person I’ve ever met. It is so cool to see someone who loves his business so much. I love spending my money here. Best burgers in the obx.

Always delicious and easy on your wallet. The owner is well mannered and polite. My Favorite is the Double Bacon and Pepperjack Burger. If you got a big stomach for eating then try a shot at the Viking Burger! All in all one of my favorite spots on the beach.

I absolutely enjoyed this place. I LOVE a good cheeseburger and tater tots and they gave me just that. The food AND the service was impeccable. My family went there twice on our vacation because we loved it so much. If you look at my profile picture that is me on the beach nearby. That was random but, again I LOVE SPANKY'S!!! I would 10/10 recommend.

Best Burgers on the beach! The owners always greet you with a friendly smile! Great food at a great price! The food is always hot and fresh. We have been going there since they opened when my kids were babies and now they are taking their kids. Way better than the chain fast food places!!

Everything is good!!!! Bring a big appetite for the biggest and best burgers on the Outer Banks or have a .99 Hot dog, BBQ or their country fried steak w 2 sides. D E L I C I O U S!!

Spanky's is the Best! We visit a few times a year from Virginia and the Mad Viking Burger is definitely on the menu. We love the staff, they always make me feel at home and somehow seem to remember me even though they see me only a few hours a year. Even though the Viking is a must have (2lb burger) we have tried a few other menu items and have NEVER been disappointed. I highly recommend Spanky's for anyone who just wants a good meal in a good friendly, family atmosphere. Thanks Spanky!

The burgers here were excellent and the gator bites and waffle fries were also delicious. My only critique was that the gator bites were $6.99 and only came with about 10 quarter sized bites and we wished it came with more for the price.

Very popular dive for quick bites. Went for basically a snack and had hot dogs - the regular was better than the foot long so I'd get two of those vs. one of the other if you're wanting something like that. Sweet potato fries? Not bad. Funnel cake fries were on point. Will try the voodoo burger sometime. Again for inexpensive burger joint type food, a good option.

I had the taco salad. And it was amazing. Make sure you mix the sour creme and salsa into te salas, it makes a good dressing. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is also quite extensive too.

What a delightful lunch! Good food made fresh and quick. Super friendly service. Owner Ben Zak goes out of his way to make sure you have a great experience. No wonder this place has such a great reputation. We had the Philly Cheesesteak, footlong hotdog with hush puppies, and a chicken tenders with fries...all good!No vaping!They do have beer, but it's not on the menu.

Great little shotgun burger/hotdog spot, guy behind the counter was so friendly I felt weird being mildly grouchy from lack of caffene. Food was definitely worth the cost, taste like someones middle aged father is grilling out back to order lol.
